The Need For Incrementalism
Last year, The Resiliency Company created a playbook for commercial real estate. From Vulnerability to Value, A Risk Mitigation Playbook to Drive Resilient Development is designed to show how the ecosystem of stakeholders in the sector — such as lenders, investors, developers, owners, designers, contractors, and insurers — can work in coordination to reduce weather-related risk and unlock new value.
It’s Time To Build The Adaptation Economy
Before founding The Resiliency Company, I was an entrepreneur. A byproduct of spending time raising capital is that I have gotten used to looking at opportunities for returns on innovative businesses. And because my network is still full of investors, I often end up in conversations about the opportunities of equity investing in adaptation and resilience.
How To Make Resiliency More Like Kitchens
When it comes to investing in resilience, how can we make resilience upgrades more like kitchen upgrades? This latest issue of the Making Resilience the Norm newsletter explores how we can make resiliency something that realtors, architects, general contractors, and homeowners all advocate for because of the value created, not just the potential for discounts.
Resiliency Requires Momentum
When it comes to adapting to change, it’s easy to do nothing. But as the shocks and stressors of the changed and changing weather are becoming more prevalent and in order to adapt, we need the opposite of “do nothing” -- we need momentum. And the time when momentum is highest is right after a disaster.
Resiliency is a Team Sport

This is my first crack at an ongoing series of reflections on the resiliency ecosystem and our work at The Resiliency Company.
